~ "MEET SMILEY" ~   

            Smiley is a mare I acquired this spring ~ A grade 7   year old brood mare with less than perfect front end alignment. She had probably never had a trim.We have now improved her front hooves. Although the infomation at the auction claimed she was a trail horse, we all know that is a code for not very well broke. The thought that she might go the wrong way or travel auction to auction forced my bid.  She was very friendly, kind and pretty. I have never seen her pin an ear or kick horses or people.  She is a loner in the field. Has had no lameness issues while I have owned her.

     Smiley came around very well. she  learned to walk and trot around the ring; She now does simple circles and other figures. Cantering in the ring came slowly. Trail rides went well as long as she had her equine friend to lead the way. Now as fall approaches she sadly needs a new home as I am short hay. A confident gentle rider who will folllow thru and be consistent will get along well with her.

     UPDATE:2010       

     Smiley spent the summer of 2009 at a theraputic riding program. She truly taught that having a disability is not an issue to success! This summer she is at a camp teaching beginners to ride. She loves the trail and all her human friends. Most of all, she would really like her own special family now that she has proven her self.
